Food and food culture has gathered steam in recent years. Dishes at restaurants are becoming works of art, branding & packaging of food items can be labelled as high-art and we’ve seen a trend where food has led to art and they are now working hand-in-hand together.
Described as a visual playground with mixed mediums being used, fART will consume all of your senses. Intending to shine a spotlight on how far people’s obsessions go with food, how it brings us all together and the delight and joy we feel from it (feeder to feedee).
Several different artists have been asked to take part in the exhibition including Killer Acid, Philippe Blanchard, MILKBBI, Avis Catqueen, Katrina Cervoni, Simone D’Angelo, Jeffrey Dell, Alexandra Dumais, Shannon Gerard, Ben Jones, Keith Jones, Brendan George Ko, Ginette Lapalme, Elija Montgomery, Caitlyn Murphy, Peter Rahul, Nicholas Robins, Julian Reeves and Michael Seleski, Alëna Skarina, Maxime Stein, and Chris Uphues.
Be sure to check out Inez and Corey’s opening night for fART on Thursday September 5, 2013 from 7PM-10PM at the OCAD Student Gallery located at 52 McCaul Street in Toronto. Throughout the evening, they will be handing out limited edition fART pins, so get em while they are hot.Tags: Alëna Skarina, Alexandra Dumais, art, Art Exhibition, Avis Catqueen, Ben Jones, Brendan George Ko, Caitlyn Murphy, cake, Chris Uphues, corey moranis, Cosmic Cakes, Curated, eating, Elija Montgomery, fART, fArtists, fat girl food squad, Feedee, Feeder, food, food art, food babes, Food Obsession, food photos, foodie, Ginette Lapalme, Good Egg, inez genereux, Jeffrey Dell, Julian Reeves and Michael Seleski, Junk Food, Katrina Cervoni, Keith Jones, Killer Acid, Maxime Stein, MILKBBI, Mixed Mediums, Nicholas Robins, OCAD Student Gallery, ontario, Opening Night, Peter Rahul, Philippe Blanchard, Shannon Gerard, Simone D’angelo, toronto, Visual Art
